Register online before March 17th and SAVE $10. Register 3 or more and save even more with a family discount to participate in the 5K Shamrock Run & Walk on Saturday, March 18th. You can also register here for the NEW Wee Irish Mile taking place on Friday, March 17th taking place right before the Parade. Sign up for the 5K Shamrock Run Walk and add the Wee Irish Mile for only $10.

Course

There is a NEW 5K run & parade walk course in downtown Indianapolis. The start and finish is located at the IFD Union Hall at 748 Massachusetts Avenue at the corner of College and Mass Avenue. The course will go past the new Bottle Works District then head north to the Old Northside neighborhood before turning back south towards downtown. The course will swing by the Lockerbie neighborhood before running through the Mass Avenue Arts District and returning to the IFD Union Hall. The NEW parade walk will feature elements of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade with specialty units, floats, music and entertainment moving with the walk portion of the route.

Race Info

Competitive awards for the Run only. The top three (3) male and female finishers in the Run are awarded with a special Adidas race jacket. All participants will receive a NEW St. Pat’s finisher’s medal. Multiple prizes will be given out to those Irish costumes that stand out.

Cause

Proceeds will benefit amateur sports organizations in central Indiana and the Firefighters Emerald Society.

Entertainment

There will be a post-race celebration inside the Union Hall on the Printing Partners Stage with performance by Celtic Rock Band Highland Reign at 11:45am. As part of the Parade walk there will be live music on TWG float with DJ OM Collarbone and Cumulus Radio on the second float.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE 

There will be food trucks located at the finish line of the race as well as a beer garden inside the Union Hall.

GEAR CHECK 

There will be a gear check inside the Union Hall on Mass Ave. 

MUSEUM (IFD) 

Tour the Local 416 Union Hall, Firefighters Museum.

REST AND RECOVERY 

The event will provide free fruit, water and cookies at the finish line.  

 TIMING 

The run is chip timed and the walk will be clock timed. Results will be posted after the event. Timing and scoring provided by Tuxedo Brothers Management.

FAQ

Are strollers accepted?

Strollers are accepted. The parent will be asked to sign a waiver for the child. Kids ages five (5) and under are free.

Where are the restrooms located?

Restrooms are located outside near the start/finish line, inside the IFD Union Hall and on the course around the one and two mile markers.

Am I guaranteed a shirt at the race? Is there a Finisher’s Medal?

Pre-registered runners are guaranteed a shirt. We do not guarantee to day of event walk-ups. No discounts apply on race day if we run out of shirts. NEW! Participants will receive a medal at the finish line.

Is there a gear check on site?

There is a GEAR CHECK on the first floor of the IFD Union Hall - 748 Mass Avenue

How does the timing work for the race?

The run is chip-timed. The walk is clock-timed.
