Hoosier Lottery Greening of the Canal
As a kick-off to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Shamrock Run Walk, The Athletic Club Foundation, in partnership with the Hoosier Lottery, will host the 25th Annual Hoosier Lottery Greening of the Canal on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 5:00pm. The event will take place at Ohio and West Street downtown on the Ohio Street canal basin. Join the Mayor, Governor, Irish Citizen of the year and the Hoosier Lottery in turning the canal green. This is a media event with live entertainment and food trucks. The event is free and open to the public.

Live Stream
It will be live streamed on the Hoosier Lottery Facebook Page and the Indianapolis St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Facebook page at IndyStPats. The public is encouraged to tune in to countdown to the official pouring of the dye and watch the canal turn green.

The Greening of the Canal is emceed by Hoosier Lottery Draw Host Chayzee Smith. The official pourers for this years Greening are Mayor Joe Hogsett, the 2023 Irish Citizen of the Year and Sarah Taylor, Executive Director of the Hoosier Lottery.

Food trucks will be on Ohio Street between Senate and West Street.
Location
On Ohio Street between West Street and Senate. We are located on the Canal just east of Fire Station 13 and across the Street from the Historical Society. This is a live media event.
Paid parking is available at Senate Street, Ohio Street, New York Street and Indiana Avenue. The White River State Park parking garage is located off of Washington Street just west of West Street.
